Kydex® FST with Microban®
Kydex® FST is a proprietary, high performance thermoplastic sheet specifically formulated to meet all Boeing and Airbus toxicity requirements for aircraft interior components.
General Information:
Kydex® FST meets all fire, smoke and heat release requirements set forth in FAR 25.853 (a) and (d) as well as toxicity requirements for ABD0031, BSS7239 and D6-51377. Its excellent properties make it ideal to form 2 and 3-dimensional aircraft components.

New and improved Kydex® FST
KYDEX LLC, manufacturer of Kydex® thermoplastic sheet, has announced an improved formulation of Kydex® FST. The newly formulated sheet is now available in a lower gloss finish, in an integrally colored metallic, with a new texture called PB-Brushed Metal or as an injection-molding resin. Kydex® FST is high-performance aviation-grade sheet, formulated to meet all Boeing and Airbus flame-smoke-toxicity requirements. KYDEX FST also has Microban® antimicrobial protection built into the sheet so it won't wash or wear away and lasts for the lifetime of the sheet/product. Microban technology helps keep the surface cleaner between cleanings and inhibits the growth of bacteria that can cause stains, odors and product deterioration. ôWe recognized a need to develop an aviation-grade sheet that was available in a lower gloss finish as well as a fully-compliant injection-molding resin," said Ronn Cort, international business manager. ;Like other Kydex® sheet materials, this product is offered in the industry standard P3 Velour Matte texture, but the enhanced Kydex® FST sheet was developed in response to our clients' expressed needs.

Note: Pre-drying of Kydex® FST is required prior to thermoforming in order to remove moisture from the sheet. Microban® antimicrobial product protection.
