OVERVIEW of Lucite® L Cast Acrylic Sheet

Lucite® (aka Optix-L) is a Continuous Cast acrylic sheet with a unique combination of high molecular weight and uniform thickness. Lucite® L cast acrylic sheet is lightweight and easily fabricated. Clear, colorless Lucite® L sheet has a luminous transmittance of 92%. It is clearer than glass and will not yellow under normal exposure. Lucite® L will withstand exposure to blazing sun, extreme cold, sudden temperature changes, salt water spray. This lightweight material is only half the weight of glass. but offers 7 times the impact resistance. While it does not have the rigidity of glass or metals, it is more rigid than many other transparent plastics such as acetates, butyrates, polycarbonate, polyester, and SAN. Lucite® L continuous cast acrylic sheet has a typical tensile strength of 10,300 psi and a typical stiffness of 535,000 psi at 73° F (23° C). Available in a wide variety of standard sheet sizes and thicknesses, and custom sheet sizes up to 108" x 168"
