OVERVIEW of MC511A (NEMA G-11) Sheet |
Norplex MC511A (NEMA G-11) is a high performance epoxy glass composite that provides higher strength than MC511AF. The product offers excellent physical, mechanical, and electrical properties at both room temperature and elevated temperatures. MC511A is chosen over high-temperature mat glass thermoset composites and high performance glass-filled thermoplastics because of its excellent machinability, outstanding dimensional stability, superior creep resistance, and other high-temperature and performance characteristics. In use, the product is often exposed to continuous temperatures as high as 155°C for up to a decade. And in short-term applications such as insulation in aerospace and defense systems, the material withstands temperatures in excess of 300°C. Halogen free to conform to European restrictions, MC511A is specially formulated to meet exacting power generation standards requiring higher strength at elevated temperatures. The product is considered the premier material for use as Class F insulation in electrical power generation and transmission equipment.
