Acetal Resin
Acetal is a thermoplastic resin commonly used for injection molding applications. Acetal resins, or technically called polyoxymethylenes (POM), are among the strongest and stiffest of thermoplastics. Acetal copolymers are well known for their fatigue and wear resistance as well as high chemical resistance and dimensional stability.
Acetal resins provide an outstanding consistency of properties and color. They have exceptional solvent resistance, and are virtually unaffected by strong bases. Acetals are rigid, creep resistant and strong. They possess low coefficients of friction, and remain stable at high temperatures, even for extended use.
Types of Acetal Resin:
- Acetal 9 Melt Copolymer (M90 Type) - Natural - Direct equivalent to Ticona Celon* M90 Natural
- Acetal 9 Melt Copolymer (M90 Type) - Black - Direct equivalent to Ticona Celcon* M90 Black
- Acetal Homopolymer, 15 Melt, (500P Type) - Natural - Direct equivalent to Dupont Delrin* 500P Natural
- Acetal Homopolymer, 15 Melt, (500P Type) - Black - Direct equivalent to Dupont Delrin* 500P Black

Acetal Tubes
Acetal Tubes - Acetal Copolymer Tubes provide high strength and stiffness coupled with enhanced dimensional stability and ease of machining. As a semi-crystalline material, acetal is also characterized by a low coefficient of friction and good wear properties especially in wet environments. Because of its high strength, modulus, and resistance to impact and fatigue, Acetal copolymer tubes are used as a weight-saving metal replacement. Acetal copolymer overcomes the common problem of centerline porosity in large shapes of Acetal Homopolymer (aka Delrin)
- Acetal Copolymer is preferred to Delrin (DuPont brand Acetal Homopolymer) where centerline porosity is a concern.
- Acetal copolymer is produced under several brand names including Celcon, Ultraform & Acetron.

Chemours® PTFE 9B
Chemours® PTFE 9B is a free-flowing white powder composed of premelted resin. It is designed for use in the ram extrusion process. Compared with other DuPont resins suitable for ram extrusion, Chemours® PTFE 9B provides outstanding resistance to charge fracture (poker-chipping) caused by excessive back-pressure during the extrusion of small-diameter rods, thin-wall tubing, and complicated profiles. Its' uniform particle characteristics make it well suited for difficult feeding conditions.
Properly processed products made from neat Chemours® PTFE 9B provide the superior properties typical of the fluoropolymer resins: retention of properties after service at 260°C (500°F), useful properties at -240°C (-400°F), chemical inertness to nearly all industrial chemicals and solvents, and low friction and antistick surfaces. Dielectric properties are outstanding and stable with frequency and temperature.
In a flame situation, products of Chemours® PTFE 9B resist ignition and do not themselves promote flame spread. When ignited by flame from other sources, their contribution of heat is small and with very little smoke. Note: Statements, or data, regarding behavior in a flame situation are not intended to reflect hazards presented by this or any other material when under actual fire conditions.

Delrin® 570 - 20% Glass-Filled Acetal
Delrin® 570, this grade has 20% glass fiber filler. It has much greater mechanical properties over unfilled acetals.
Delrin® Glass Filled provides the same basic properties as Delrin®, with added strength. Delrin® Glass Filled is a tough material that provides the added advantages of greater stiffness, improved creep resistance, low warpage and higher dimensional stability than Delrin® because it possesses surface characteristics of Teflon®. Parts designed using glass-filled will demonstrate good impact resistance, low deformation under load and high fatigue endurance. Delrin® Glass Filled is an excellent choice for its long-term mechanical stability in applications such as Anti-Friction Parts, Application Bearings, Gears and Parts requiring greater stiffness, Electrical Components and other Close Tolerance Precision Parts and Fuel System Parts.

EcoFlow™ FEP-Lined Tubing
EcoFlow™ FEP-Lined Tubing is designed to offer cost-effective solutions for high performance fluid and gas processing applications. The new tubing has an inner lining of Teflon® FEP (fluorinated ethylene propylene) encased in a protective, and less expensive, LDPE (low density polyethylene) jacket.
Professional Plastics offers five sizes of this FEP-lined fractional tubing. The FEP inside diameters (I.D.) range from 0.170 to 0.625 inches (4 to 15 mm), and the LDPE outside diameters (O.D) range from 0.25 to 0.75 inches (6 to 19 mm). The product is available in custom lengths.
By lining the inner surface of LDPE tubing with FEP, this tubing provides the benefits of FEP at a percentage
of the cost. The FEP lining offers a chemically inert, non-adherent surface, with a very low coefficient of
friction and low permeability. It also exhibits excellent chemical resistance, as well as thermal and electrical
stability.
Utilizing EcoFlow FEP-lined tubing is a cost-effective way to ensure accurate and dependable performance. It
is ideal for industrial pumps processing corrosive chemicals, fuels, solvents, or acids. Its non-stick innerlining
handle adhesives or paint spray well, and allow for easy flush cleaning. Because FEP offers no trace of
extractables, it serves well for distilled beverage production, water or environmental sampling, pigment
processing, or any critical fluid handling systems where cleanliness is important.

Kapton® Tape (Silicone Adhesive)
Kapton® Tape (Silicone Adhesive) is a film, tough, thin, designed for high temperature applications; used on coils, capacitors with temperature rating 220°C application.
DuPont Kapton polyimide film can remain stable in a wide range of temperatures, from -273 °C to +400 °C (0 K - 673 K). Kapton is used in, among other things, flexible printed circuits (flexible electronics) and Thermal Micrometeoroid Garments, the outside layer of space suits. Kapton is also commonly used as a material for windows of all kinds at x-ray sources (synchrotron beam-lines and x-ray tubes) and x-ray detectors. Its high mechanical and thermal stability as well as its high transmittance to x-rays make it the preferred material. It also does not suffer from radiation damage. Another prominent material for these purposes is beryllium.
The thermal conductivity of Kapton in temperatures from 0.5 to 5 kelvin is rather high. This together with its good dielectric qualities and its availability as thin sheets have made it a favorite material in cryogenics (devices working in temperatures down to absolute zero, -273 °C or 0 K).
Kapton is also regularly used as an insulator in ultra-high vacuum environments as it has a low outgassing rate.
