OVERVIEW of Meldin® 6001 Polyimide

Meldin® 6001 economy-grade unfilled polyimide from Saint Gobain. While it costs less than Meldin® 7001, the physical properties and machinability are less desirable. This first-generation legacy product is still used by some companies for high-temperature parts at an economical price. Applications include aerospace, glass handling, and gas turbines.

Meldin 6001 Plates are supplied +.030"/-000" on thickness

Specific Gravity of 1.33

Economical polyimide material.

Limitations: difficult to machine, compared to Meldin 7001
