Overview of Polycarbonate Sheet-Rod-Tube-Film
— Polycarbonate offers excellent impact resistance, thermal resistance, and optical qualities. Polycarbonate is offered in a variety of grades, colors, sizes and shapes. Glazing grade sheets such as Lexan and Makrolon offer 86% light transmission, a deflection temperature of 270 degrees F at 264 PSI, and has a smoke density rating less than 75, and is suitable for impact-resistant windows, signage, shields, machine guards and barriers. Lexan® 9034 and Makrolon® GP polycarbonate sheet is UV stabilized, and can be used for economical protection against breakage or intrusion. A better insulator than glass, polycarbonate glazing contributes to lower energy costs.Polycarbonate is available in Solid and Multiwall Sheets, Graphic Films, Rods, Tubes, and Profiles. It is also available in standard and flame-resistant grades, as well as, in special textures, and medical grades.
